Despite much work to glaze, I am going to hesitate until the current load is finished in the kiln. Many, many trial and error firings have led to mediocre work. It is a tenous science- chemical percentages, amount of water, length of dip time, amount of colorant(s)…you never know what you are going to get. Not being glaze savvy at this stage can be so frustrating, but I am excited to be testing my first glazes all my own. I am crossing my fingers that there will be good coverage, rish textures and beautiful surprises!
