We invite others into our lives and if we are lucky, the connection grows and drops seeds of new life all around us. When we choose to invite the special people in our lives to share in an important occasion, they are more than spectators. My pieces celebrate and invite attendees to participate. A stone, poem or trinket from a shared moment of childhood bring a unique element that you alone can appreciate and share.
My Vessels in White collection are often chosen to highlight the precious, pure nature of the moment being celebrated. The Misty Morn series of pieces reflect a sense of the sea and sky and a connection to the land. No two have been alike and I like that.
Recently I created a vessel for a minister who mingles sand as a representation of the joining of two lives, unique and individual, but forever inseparable as the grains of sand. So eloquent and I am so pleased to share the gift of a porcelain vessel to highlight the contents of that special ceremony.
The Blossom Series (show at left) l has the soft gesture of an opening flower. The perfect size for a small candle, to float a lotus flower or to gather offerings at a ceremony, the vessels pictured here are glazed to create a non-porous surface perfect for holding water, sand or other small objects.

This vessel was chosen as part of a celebration of birth and motherhood. All of the attendees contributed a small keepsake for the mother-to-be as the bowl was passed. Items included keepsake rings, a Madonna and Child pendant, unique stones and found objects. For the soon-to-be new mother, the sharing of gifts and their accompanying stories fill this bowl to overflowing. It was my honor to have a piece I created play such an integral role in such a blessed ceremony.
